Who we are
About Joe Todaro
Creative Strategist. Systems Thinker. Possibility Partner.
I spent over three decades in Information Technology — leading software teams, solving big problems, and navigating the complexities of corporate systems. From legacy platforms to global rollouts, I learned how businesses think, where they get stuck, and what it takes to move forward with clarity.
In 2025, I completed my Master of Science in Creativity and Change Leadership at Buffalo State University. That program gave me the tools to formalize something I’ve always done instinctively: helping people and organizations think more creatively and act more meaningfully.
Today, I work with founders, teams, and decision-makers to:
Uncover stuck points in operations, strategy, and team dynamics
Clarify goals and untangle complex problems
Introduce frameworks (like The Mighty C) that support innovation and progress
My practice is grounded in experience, but future-focused. I believe the best answers come from conversation, collaboration, and well-structured creativity. That’s the spirit behind Onion Duty Enterprises.
If you're facing a challenge — or holding back a great idea — I’d love to talk.
Why “Onion Duty”?
The Fundamentals
Every glorious endeavor (like an elaborate recipe) starts with that basic, always-necessary first step that’s often unpleasant, tedious, and yes eye-watering.
I refer to this as “Onion Duty” in my own projects so it was a natural choice for naming my consulting practice, but it serves as a reminder to respect the groundwork. The early sorting, the clarifying, the truth-telling. The part that doesn’t get applause but makes everything else possible.
Whether we’re streamlining operations, exploring creative potential, or trying to move a stubborn idea forward, there’s always an onion to peel. My job is to help you start there — patiently, thoughtfully — so what we build actually holds up.
